Bedugul Mountain Lake, Waterfalls, Ulun Danu, and Brahmavihara Buddha Temple

After a 1.5-hour drive north from the resort, we arrive at a small parking area from where we’ll begin tasting several varieties of local coffee. There is also an opportunity to purchase coffee, including Luwak coffee — the famous civet coffee. Afterwards, we continue through the jungle, descending 300 steps to one of the seven stunning Jagaraga waterfalls. Don’t forget your swimwear — a dip in the crystal-clear, cool water is refreshingly invigorating!

After climbing back up, we’ll drive another 30 minutes along winding roads to Bedugul Mountain Lake. Here, we will visit the Pura Ulun Danu temple, built on a small island right in the lake. The enormous Benjamin fig tree within the temple grounds is also an impressive sight.

Nearby, the botanical garden showcases several hundred plant species and offers an adrenaline-filled canopy climbing experience among the treetops.

The trip can be combined with a visit to Bali’s largest Buddhist temple — Brahma Vihara Arama. This ornate complex, consecrated in 1972, is a replica of a Buddhist monastery in Java, including the famous Borobudur at its summit.
