Our Story

More than twenty years ago, back when we were both enthusiastic diving instructors, we dreamed of a place where both divers and “non-divers” could feel at home. Together with another family, we began building Relax Bali — a resort that has since become our second home and, for many guests, a heartfelt destination.

We raised our three sons — Jindra, Ondra, and Jáchym — here in Bali, and over time became part of the local community. Today, we share everyday joys with our Balinese friends: celebrating Hindu holidays, weddings, birthdays, and simple evenings under the stars.

From the very beginning, we wanted to do things differently — with respect for nature and local people. We sort waste, help clean the village, protect the sea from overfishing, and organize environmental lectures in local schools. In 2012, we sank a cleaned shipwreck in front of our resort — it now serves as a home for corals and fish, and for divers, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Bali won our hearts with its calm, almost healing energy. Here on the eastern coast, you’ll find the true, traditional Bali — with kind people, a relaxed pace, and a beautiful sea. Besides diving, you can enjoy excursions, massages, and sports, and in our restaurant, we cook both honest Indonesian food and Czech potato pancakes — because home is also about taste.

We wish for our guests to feel like part of this place — not as tourists, but as friends. And by staying with us, you contribute to the protection of the Kubu Marine Park and support both the local community and the entire marine ecosystem.
